Roberta Zarb Adami

Roberta is a seasoned healthcare professional with over twenty years clinical and community experience. She worked in the public sector for nineteen years where she spent two years working in general physiotherapy and seventeen working as a paediatric physiotherapist. At Helen Keller Special School and San Miguel Resource Centre for children with disabilities she held the role of physiotherapist in charge where she managed a team of physiotherapists and trainee students.

Concerned with the high prevalence of paediatric obesity in Malta she went on to further her studies at the University of Malta and qualified as a nutritionist. Following her qualification, she was part of the team that set up and initiated services at Dar Kenn Ghal Sahhtek, a government entity specialised in the treatment of eating disorders. Roberta held dual roles at the facility involving both the nutrition and physiotherapy fields. She furthered her studies by obtaining a Masters in Food Studies and Environmental Health and also presented her research at the 2nd National Symposium of Health Sciences in 2016. She published a paper about her research in June 2017 in the Malta Journal of Health Sciences. Roberta also volunteers with the Malta Resuscitation Council where she carries out training in basic life support.
